Today’s short article is in response to WordPress Writing prompt, theory.

What have you done in your blog recently? Are you doing enough?

Are you following your diary? You know, stuff like:

  • wake up at 6am,
  • take a walk for 20 minutes
  • come back home
  • have a cup of coffee, and then
  • sit down to work on your writing or blog.

You may not be alone. Many people struggle with this. If this not going well for you perhaps you lack motivation and focus.

According to Parkinson’s Law, ”work expands to fill the time available for its completion.”

In simple terms, if you give yourself too much time to complete a task, that task will become more complex and daunting, you may end up with stress and even a lower quality work!

For example, if you say “I’m going to write an article this evening” you may give yourself three hours.

However, if you say “I’m going to write an article for one hour”, you will be more focused and complete task as well as do better work.

If you lack motivation and focus, you may not be managing your time properly.

I am not a psychologist or any thing like that, but my low blog traffic over these past months has made me question whether I’m  doing things right or not.

What about you? Do you feel that your output is not marching your goals? This is a good time to re-evaluate and write down your goals for 2018. It will surely reignite your motivation.

Thanks for reading
