3 Unforgettable Blog Posts to Inspire Your Writing

untitled

Look what I found in the web this week!

I love post roundups.

You know why?

It gives me the opportunity to explore the web for evergreen contents that will inspire  my writing, as well the writings of  my readers. Since I started these roundups, I have visited quite a few blogs. It has been worth my time.

‘If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tool) to write.’- Stephen King.

I totally agree.

Finding time to read blogs will open your mind to many possibilities. You will learn why some blog posts are shared, liked or commented on in hundreds, across the different social platforms.

I love to read them because they evoke in me, a pleasant feeling of I can do.

Okay, let’s dive in..

  1. How to Start a Blog in 2018: New Method That’s 20X Faster by Jon Morrow over at Smart Blogger. If you have been reading my roundups, which you can find here, here and here, you will notice that I feature Smart Blogger in all of them. In case you’re wondering why, Smart Blogger is like a gold mine. I treat it as my personal resource library.

This is another great article by Jon, where he looks at starting a blog from a totally different approach. I particularly like the idea of publishing first in Medium, then migrating your posts to your blog when they gain traction. Is this a blueprint for a successful blog? Find out from the article here.

2. The Epic Content Cycle: 10 Steps to 10X Content (Infographic) by Sonia Thompson over at Smart Blogger

The author bowled me over with her use of infographic to explain redundant words and phrases often prevalent in our writing.  It is detailed, precise and clear to follow. You may not agree with some of the phrases she condemns as unsuitable for use in writing.

One thing is clear though..

We tend to fall into the bad habit of using phrases and words best left in casual conversations. When these words and phrases are eliminated from our writing, the product is a much stronger and shareable  content. Don’t you agree? You can read the rest of the article here.

3. 100 Best Websites For Writers 2018 by Dana Sitar over at The Write Life

This is a great resource for writers as is the blog. The article is a compilation of the best websites for writers in 2018. Each featured website in the list was chosen because, in her own words, ‘It was recommended by readers of The Write Life, it publishes content helpful to readers, it has been updated recently and regularly.’

Is your website on the list? If so, well done. Read the rest of the article here.

Did you find this latest post roundup helpful?
